What is the MCA?
The Maungaraki Community Association or MCA is an active advocate on behalf of our community, aiming to further the interests of our neighbourhood with local and central government. We’ve been doing this work since 1983, promoting the needs of our residents and opposing inappropriate development in our neighbourhood.
The things we care about.
The MCA is actively involved in promoting the interests of our community in a number of areas:
- We make submissions on issues affecting Maungaraki, such as proposals to Hutt City Council to build new public toilets and the current proposed plan to change the district plan throughout Hutt City.
- We work with other groups – like Greater Wellington Regional Council and Western Community Panel on issues of common concern.
Join the MCA
The MCA committee meets in the community corner of the Maungaraki Community Centre every third Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm.
Maungaraki residents are welcome to attend. There is no fee attached or obligation to join the committee, and you can do as much or as little as you wish. Get in touch with us via our Contact page if you are interested.
